Wild & Scenic Film Festival - 08/29/2009 August 29, 2009 to September 5, 2009 Once again the Apalachicola Riverkeeper will host the Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour. This year we are working with the Apalachicola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Gulf County Tourist Development Council (Port St. Joe), Tupelo Theater (Wewahitchka), FSU Coastal & Marine Laboratory (Turkey Point) to bring the festival to venues across the Forgotten Coast and up the Apalachicola. We will post the schedule, venues, and films in the coming months. If you would like to sponsor a venue or volunteer to plan and put it together, give us a call at (850) 653-8936 National Estuaries Day - 09/25/2009 September 25, 2009 261 Seventh Street Apalachicola The Apalachicola Reserve invites you to celebrate National Estuaries Day from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25th . Bring the family and join us for a fun and educational day. Activities will focus on the importance of our estuaries and the need to protect them. Events will include boat tours (children must be 8 or older), guided nature trail walks, children\'s activities including a cast netting game, wacky waterfront race, and arts and crafts. There will be touch tanks, live reptiles on display, door prizes for adults and more! Door prizes are from local vendors. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is FREE. Hurry in, free T-shirts will be given to the first 500 attendees!
